Planes we ferry

If it is legal to fly, we will move it. The list below covers the types we fly most often, and anything outside it gets matched to a pilot who knows that airplane.

By the category

Which airplanes does Settle Ferry Group fly?

We fly for owners, buyers, dealers and maintenance shops. Every leg is flown by a pilot current on type, whether that is one of our pilots or one we bring in for your airplane.

Questions about aircraft types

What if my airplane is not on the list?

The list covers what Settle Ferry Group moves most often, not the limit of what it will move. Send it anyway. If the airplane is legal to fly, the working assumption is that it can be ferried, and the job becomes finding the right pilot for it rather than deciding whether the type qualifies. Most trips are flown by the pilots you see on this site. When a type calls for experience nobody here holds, or when your policy sets requirements a staff pilot does not meet, the search widens to a network of ferry pilots who fly that equipment every week. That is a normal part of the work, not an exception. Light sport and amateur-built airframes such as the RV-12 and the Rans S-19 are already on the list, and other experimental types are handled the same way. Send the tail number, the type and both airports, and the reply will say how the trip gets flown and who would fly it.

Do you ferry turbine or jet aircraft?

Ask, and the answer is usually yes, though a turbine trip gets arranged differently from a piston one. Turboprops and jets carry requirements that decide who may fly them: a type rating, a minimum number of hours in that exact model, or an underwriter who will only approve a named pilot. Those requirements set the crew, so a turbine ferry is matched to a pilot qualified and insurable in the type rather than flown by whoever is available. Settle Ferry Group's own pilots fly piston singles and twins, and turbine work is placed with ferry pilots who fly that equipment regularly. Send the make, model, both airports and anything your insurer requires, and the reply will confirm whether the trip can be crewed on your timeline and what it involves. Piston singles and twins, including high performance, turbocharged and retractable gear models, are quoted directly.
